GET **IT DONE CLUB: THE STORY SO FAR…

GET **IT DONE CLUB is just over a year old. Our first event took place as a one-off fundraiser to raise vital funds for the IAPMD as a way for me to raise awareness of PMDD and PME, and support the organisation which had been such a huge source of support to me and so many other people living with Premenstrual Disorders.

I had been to networking events in the past but had sometimes come away feeling like I hadn't felt confident, or even comfortable, so I hadn’t felt safe to put myself out there and talk about my business, and I often felt like my time could have been better spent at home working on my to-do list…

I decided to put on an event for my friends in business - where we could connect and support each other, where I could share some information with them about PMDD and we could take some time to co-work, and get some work done together in a cool environment.

Despite my imposter syndrome telling me the event would be naff and no one would come, it was a success, with 20 brilliant women in the room, hundreds of pounds being raised for IAPMD, and lots of new connections and friendships being made.

I got some great feedback and people were asking me when the next one would be… so I put on another event two months later.

And then another. In August we had our first co-working day, and in October we upped sticks for the first GET **IT DONE CLUB Co-working Retreat.

It was at the Co-working Retreat that I realised that I could bring my coaching skills into the business-support space, and in January I launched the GET **IT DONE CLUB Programme - 6 months of 1:1 Support from me as you work on your business goals.

I am like a proud Mother Hen as I get to witness the 12 people I have in the programme grow in confidence, and their businesses flourish, and while the programme is very much based on a 1:1 framework, there’s no denying the community that has been built amongst my members.

The last year has, in some ways quite unintentionally, been about creating wonderful communities both in person and online, which are rooted in connection, co-working and collaboration - together, we get **it done.
